Tokelo Rantie and May Mahlangu, the only South African overseas players in action this weekend, helped their sides earn convincing wins in Sweden.
Rantie's Malmo FF travelled to Brommapojkarna and took a first half lead through a Emil Forsberg strike. The hosts struck back early in the second half, but Forsberg restored Malmo's lead eight minutes later. Simon Thern netted a third goal deep into the second half to seal the 3-1 win for Malmo.
Rantie could not find the back of the net, but played 81 minutes of the match before being substituted. Malmo sit in fourth position on the Allsvenskan log, with 20 points from 11 games.
Mahlangu played the full ninety minutes for Helsingborg during their 3-0 thrashing of Atvidaberg at home on Saturday. Aljandro Bedoya gave Helsingborg the lead in the 15th minute and Ardian Gashi doubled the league leader's goal tally eleven minutes later.
There was no further joy for Helsingborg until deep into the second half when Christoffer Andersson sealed the emphatic win with an 86th minute strike.
Both South African players will travel to their home nation to meet up with the Bafana Bafana squad, before it departs to Cameroon in order to begin preparations for two crunch World Cup qualification matches in North Africa.
