George Maluleka was awarded the man of the match award during the AmaKhosi’s 2-0 win over Polokwane City on Wednesday evening
Kaizer Chiefs kept their title hopes alive when they beat Polokwane City 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. George Lebese gave the AmaKhosi an early lead when he found the back of the net in the eighth minute, before former SuperSport United player George Maluleka secured the victory in 72nd minute of the match.
Maluleka, who struck the woodwork prior to his goal, spoke to the Kaizer Chiefs website after the match.
"I think I was not composed enough with the chance. I should have scored two goals, but the one I scored was enough to give the team a good result." said Maluleka.
The midfielder scored his first goal for Chiefs since his move from Matsatsantsa in January, and felt that he is finally settling in at the AmaKhosi.
"I feel great after this performance. I am still finding my feet, but I'm getting there. I'm so happy the team won tonight. We all want to achieve the same thing as a team, so it just keeps us going as a team.
“Hunger should always be there no matter what,” he added.
Chiefs currently trail Mamelodi Sundowns by three points, with a game in hand. Their next domestic league encounter they will be against a highly motivated Bidvest Wits side, who are one position below them in the PSL table.
