Siphiwe Tshabalala: Chiefs have the upper hand

Tshabalala looks forward to the tough game against Sundowns at the weekend, in an epic top of the table battle at the FNB Stadium

Kaizer Chiefs are on a three match unbeaten run and will shift their focus on gaining the league title. Since being knocked out of the Caf Champions League by AS Vita, the AmaKhosi will look to extend their lead at the top of the PSL table.

Chiefs come off a 2-0 midweek win over Golden Arrows, and increased their lead at the top by three points.

Meanwhile, Sundowns have stepped up a gear to close the gap on the log leaders. The Brazilians are currently on a five match unbeaten run and will want to maintain their scintillating form at the weekend.

"We will approach it like any other game. We respect them like any other teams we play against,” Siphiwe Tshabalala told the media.

“One thing we guarantee is that we will do our best and we will fight to win the game. We are up to the task.

"We have the upper hand in that we have points in the bag. We want to win so that we extend the lead on top of the log,” added Tshabalala.

A win for the home side will take them six points clear of second placed Sundowns. However, a win for Sundowns will ensure they go level on points at the summit.

"This is going to be a good game of football. It is a tussle at the top of the table. It is always good to play tough games against the big teams," he said.
