Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that defenders Tsepo Masilela and Morgan Gould are still out injured, and therefore will not be available for selection against Bloem Celtic on Wednesday night.

Masilela injured his hamstring during AmaKhosi's 2-0 win over Moroka Swallows about three weeks ago, and the extent of his injury is yet to be known. The club said that he's recovering well.

28-year-old Masilela has left a hole in the left-back position of AmaKhosi in recent weeks, forcing Stuart Baxter to utilize Siboniso Gaxa more on the left than his usual right-back position.

Gould, who came in for Masilela against Swallows, is still far from making his return to action as he's nursing an ankle injury. This means Eric Mathoho and Tefu Mashamaite will continue to partner each other in the Chiefs defence for a little longer.

"Tsepo Masilela is still recovering (from a hamstring injury) while Morgan Gould is still nursing an ankle injury," Vina Maphosa of Chiefs told Goal.

Meanwhile, Kgotso Moleko is still serving his suspension after being red carded against Maritzburg United last week. The former Bloemfontein Celtic defender put in a solid performance in the Caf Champions League match against Black Africa this past weekend.

He's expected to return to Baxter's starting line-up as soon as the suspension is over, depending on the recovery of Masilela.
