Match Report: Mamelodi Sundowns suffer defeat in Zambia

A late second half goal from Chipeta was enough for Power Dynamos to defeat Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening game of their Zambian tour
Mamelodi Sundowns started their mid-season preparations against Power Dynamos at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium with a defeat.

Sundowns found the back of the net through Wayne Arendse in the 10th minute and striker Cuthbert Malajila added the second in the 39th minute.

This was after Dynamos had taken the lead in the 7th minute through Billy Mutale followed by another goal from Emmanuel Chimpinde in the 25th minute.

Until the 85th minute, the game looked to be heading for a draw, as Kobe Chipeta scored the winner to hand Dynamos a famous victory over the Brazilians.

This was the first of the three games which Sundowns will be playing in Ndola. They will also face Don Bosco from DRC and another Zambian side in Zesco United.

The four-team tournament which kicked-off on Saturday January 11 will run until January 18 with the next game being on Wednesday January 15 where Sundowns will take on DRC side Don Bosco; a game Sundowns must win to boost their morale.
