Orlando Pirates could let their starlet 'Rooney' go

PSL teams are after South Africa Under-20 star Siyanda ‘Rooney’ Ngubo, his agent Mike Makaab from Prosport International confirmed to Goal
The Orlando Pirates academy product is currently playing for Safa's Soweto side Malaga FC in Gauteng, South Africa, on loan from Bucs.

The 17-year-old striker was a vital member of the Amajita squad that won the 2013 Cosafa Under-20 Tournament in Lesotho recently, scoring 3 goals in 5 matches.

"Yes, its true there is interest from PSL teams," Ngubo's agent Mike Makaab told Goal.

'Rooney' proved to be a very pacey player who likes to hunt inside the box, with an eye for goals, during the regional tournament.

PSL sides Amazulu, Ajax Cape Town and Platinum Stars have all been rumoured to be interested in Ngubo.

The Pirates academy is currently inactive pending an internal investigation, and this has led to Bucs struggling to monitor some of their players who were loaned out from the academy.

Tebogo Moerane who was recently linked with a PSL team by his agent on Goal and Kaizer Chiefs youth player Chris Matombo are some of the players who have ended up permanently joining other teams since Pirates suspended their academy in 2012.

So it won't come as a surprise if Ngubo joins one of the PSL teams on a permanent deal soon.
