Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela could leave the club as a free agent, as no formal offers have been made yet.
Mphela is in his last season with Sundowns, and he has made it clear that he won't extend his stay at Sundowns beyond 2014.
But the club's media officer Thulani Thuswa is adamant that Mphela will not leave Sundowns, saying that the player has a special relationship with the club.
"Mphela has a special relationship with the club," Thuswa told Goal. "There are no greener pastures for Mphela locally, except moving abroad," he said.
"No one has come to us for Mphela's services, but who wants to leave Sundowns? Like I said the only greener pastures for any Sundowns player is to go to Europe," he added.
Mphela's next destination should be determined in the next few weeks, as he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract with the team of his choice if Sundowns fail to convince him to stay.
The 29-year-old former Bafana international is rumoured to be on the wanted list of several local clubs including SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates.
