Lekgwathi fuming for missing Orlando Pirates MTN8 final

Orlando Pirates captain and veteran Lucky Lekgwathi is disappointed that coach Roger de Sa did not start him in the MTN8 final against Platinum Stars in Durban on Saturday
A source close to Lekgwathi told Goal that the skipper is angry that the Pirates coach left him out of the big game, eventually lost on penalties.
“He [Lekgwathi] is really disappointed for not playing. He was ready to play and feels that he could have contributed to the team’s success,” said the source.

It was not the first time that Legkwathi has been sidelined during crucial matches as he did not play in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs too.

“He expected to be given a break during the Chiefs match, and it really took him by surprise when his name was not on the teamsheet ahead of the crucial match we lost. He felt that his experience would have been vital,” said the source.

Lekgwathi also told Isolezwe newspaper that he does not know the reason behind De Sa's decision to drop him.

“I don’t know the reason for not playing, but it is the coach who knows better. What I can say, though, is that we need to wake up and focus on our next Caf crucial match against Esperance on Saturday,” he said.
