thumbnail Hello,

Moon turned out for Bidvest Wits before moving to SuperSport United, and he is looking for maximum points against his former club

Mamelodi Sundowns fullback Bryce Moon is relishing the prospect of playing against his former club Bidvest for the first time since moving to Chloorkop.

The Brazilians will host Wits at the Loftus Stadium on Saturday, and Moon says the team will be focusing on getting maximum points rather than topping the log.

“We will be focused on getting maximum points and not topping the log like many would think. Yes that’s a bonus, because all the teams are ultimately playing to be number one, but the league is a marathon and not a sprint. We want to take it one game at a time and keep our feet on the ground,” Moon told the Sundowns website.

Sundowns have arguably the best squad in the PSL this season, but Bidvest Wits have signed several quality players who have put up good performances in the past few games.

However, Moon says the fact that Sundowns is able to create more than six goalscoring chances should give them an edge over their Johannesburg opponents.

“If we take our chances, we should get maximum points. The other motivation for us is that, as a team we are creating more than six chances per match and that’s a very good sign. In order to score, you must create but to win you must take your chances,” he said.

Both Sundowns and Wits are unbeaten so far, and neither of the two teams would want to surrender their unbeaten run that easily.
