Orlando Pirates – Polokwane City Preview: The battle of the ‘pointless’ in Soweto

Orlando Pirates return to PSL action after three weeks of continental football and the Parktown-based side will be looking for nothing less than a win

Orlando Pirates will entertain the newly promoted boys Polokwane City when the two sides meet at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.

The Caf Champions League campaigners will be eager to return back to winning ways having lost their opening league encounter against AmaZulu over a month ago.

On the other hand, Polokwane City get another chance to try and earn their first points of the season against the former PSL champions.

The inexperienced Polokwane-based outfit has just lost their coach Duncan Lechesa, and the players’ focus could be affected especially now that they desperately need to start collecting points.

City have signed bolstered their squad a bit after acquiring Kagiso Senamela who was released by AmaZulu at the end of last season.

The former Chiefs player is expected to lift the Polokwane City midfield against the likes of Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa.

Pirates are currently 15th on the log with no points after one game while Polokwane City are rooted at the bottom of the table with no points from their four league games.
