Mngqithi impressed by Golden Arrows goalkeeper Mngoma

Goalkeeper Siyabonga Mngoma made a number of brilliant saves against Mamelodi Sundowns, despite Golden Arrows eventually losing 1-0 on Saturday

Mngoma has been in the Golden Arrows starting lineup since the beginning of the season, keeping out previous regular Nkosingiphile Gumede. After the defeat against Sundowns, coach Manqoba Mngqithi spoke highly of his new number one.

“I am very impressed by the talent and dedication displayed by Mngoma. I think if he continues like this then he has a bright future ahead of him.

“He saved us today on a number of occasions and it is good to have such a player in your squad,” said Mngqithi.

It was not only the home coach who was impressed, so was Mamelodi Sundowns man Pitso Mosimane.

“(That was) great goalkeeping by Mngoma. If it was not for him we would have scored more goals,” said Mosimane.

The former University of Pretoria captain joined Arrows last year, and was waiting for his opportunity since then. Now that he's broken through, Mngoma is grabbing this chance with both hands.
