Khune: Carling Black Label Cup belongs to Kaizer Chiefs

The Chiefs skipper has been on the losing side for the past two years, but he hopes to finally lift the Carling Black Label Cup at the expense of Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has admitted that it is never easy to accept a defeat against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.

However, Khune has vowed to help the PSL champions beat Pirates this time around having failed to do so in the past two years.

“Every player wants to be on the winning side every time they play a match and it is no different with us this weekend,” Khune told the reporters.

The Chiefs captain said they want to add the Carling Black Label Cup to the club’s trophy cabinet, but he understands they can only achieve that if they share the same goal.

“This is not about me as an individual, but the entire team. We all have to go out there with the same goal and that is nothing, but to get that gold medal and obviously bring the trophy into the club’s cabinet,” he said.

Khune has already lifted two major trophies as AmaKhosi captain and he will be hoping to finally lift the Carling Black Label Cup.
