thumbnail Hello,

The dreadlocked midfielder has been voted in the Chiefs starting line-up for a third year running and he says the team is determined to beat Pirates

Siphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala admits that the pressure is on Kaizer Chiefs to lift the Black Label Cup when they meet arch-rivals Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The AmaKhosi midfielder was part of the team that lost to Bucs in the same competition for the past two years, but Shabba says this is their chance to win it.

“Obviously we want to see ourselves lifting the trophy. We missed it on two occasions and I think this is our chance to lift the trophy.

“But there is work that needs to be done. We need to work hard at training and prepare well. I am sure the results will come,” Shabba told Goal during the media open day at Naturena.

Chiefs were unfortunate to be beaten on penalties in the previous editions of the Carling Black Label Cup, and the game on Saturday will mean nothing but revenge for the men in gold and black.

Tshabalala has been voted in the starting line-up for a third successive year and his experience will come handy as AmaKhosi try to wrestle the trophy away from their closest rivals.
