Bloemfontein Celtic has taken another route for their pre-season plans. This time they plan a trip to KwaZulu-Natal instead of Johannesburg
Phunya Sele Sele have traditionally done their off-season preparations in Gauteng due to the high altitude, and those tactics appeared to pay off in the 2012/13 campaign after Bloemfontein Celtic were crowned Telkom Knockout champions before finishing fifth in the PSL.
This time the club will be spending their time in Durban with hope that they will get to train at sea. Pre-season is expected to take place when his side makes a return on the 24th of June.
“The facilities are excellent, of course, and we will have some top-quality friendly games against AmaZulu, Maritzburg United, Lamontville Golden Arrows and Thanda Royal Zulu,” said coach Clinton Larsen.
Larsen said he hopes that these preparations will have a positive impact on his team, and he believes it will be beneficial.
“It is a change for us, and we believe it will be good for the players and will allow us to be in top shape when the season starts.
"We have had a rethink and decided to go down to Durban instead, because we want to do a lot of endurance training, and the beach is perfect for that,” he said.
