Bernard Parker not satisfied with the number of goals he scored for Kaizer Chiefs this season

Bafana striker Parker says he is not too happy with the number goals he scored for AmaKhosi for the 2012/2013 season

Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana striker Bernard Parker has expressed his disappointment despite finishing as the second highest goalscorer in the league with 12 goals.

Parker says that he would have liked to score more goals, but again he believes that a striker is never satisfied even if one can finish as the league top goalscorer.

“I am not satisfied. I should never be satisfied. Even if I was the top goalscorer of the PSL, I wouldn’t be satisfied, but I am happy for the team. We did it throughout the season,” said Parker after their 1-0 defeat to AmaTuks.

The Bafana striker started the season with four goals against AmaZulu back in August, but he later lost his goalscoring touch and he, at one stage, played eight consecutive games without scoring a goal.

However, Parker believes that he can score more goals if he can play as a striker and not behind either Kingston Nkhatha or Lehlohonolo Majoro who are preferred target men.

“I am not an out-and-out striker, but assist and I score. Thanks to my teammates for allowing me to be a good player and thanks to the supporters,” added Parker.

Parker has been included in the Bafana squad that will travel to Cameroon to face Central African Republic on June 8, before facing Ethiopia a week later.
