"I think the guys have done very well. It's a proud moment indeed. We worked very hard towards this goal. On behalf of everybody who supported the team so far, this is our way of saying thank you," Tau said after the game.
The 32-year-old former Pirates defender believes that Chiefs' success story goes down to hard work and determination from the players.
However, he also believes that the supporters have played a huge role in the team's success this season.

"I think it's hard work and determination and the combination amongst the players and technical team and every stake holder who played a role. The supporters came to the party and we can only be grateful to everyone who has contributed," he said.
This is Jimmy Tau's second league title in a space of 10 years, having won it with Pirates back in 2003.
He also becomes the only player to win the league medal with both Chiefs and Pirates since the inception of the PSL in 1996.
