Ajax Cape Town coach Muhsin Ertugral believes that his side will be able to beat Golden Arrows in a crunch PSL clash on Saturday.
The former Arrows coach is relieved that his side's destiny is in their own hands, as the Urban Warriors merely need one point to guarantee PSL survival.
“It’s in our hands. Mentally we are confident going into the final game knowing that it is in our hands to stay up and we do not have to worry about any other games,” Ertugral said at Ikamva on Tuesday.
Ajax Cape Town had to fight back from a goal down in their last match against Maritzburg United, with Mabhuti Khenyeza securing a draw for his side with a 64th minute strike. Ertugral praised his players' spirit which was on display during the clash in Pietermaritzburg.
“I am happy with the passion amongst the players. In the first twenty minutes against Maritzburg we were a bit sloppy. But there were many young players out there and there is pressure so it is understandable," Ertugral says.
“In the second half there was an improvement so I am happy with the response. We had three or four clear cut tap in chances so we could have won."
Ajax Cape Town will need to muster at least a point in order to stay in the PSL, but Ertugral believes that his side can handle the immense pressure which will be heaped on their shoulders.
“I think all in all we are strong enough to handle any pressure in this last game. We have enough experienced players in the set up," Ertugral says.
“I am very much confident that we will be safe. There are a lot of very good players at Arrows. They escaped last week and the relief they have now is very big. This does not mean they won’t play football.
“As much as I know the team, I have to look at the way we play and I believe our team is strong enough to win this game,” Ertugral concluded.
