Chiefs coach Baxter has urged his players to stay focused ahead of Wednesday’s league encounter against SuperSport United

Suspended Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has warned his players against complacency ahead of their last home game against SuperSport United on Wednesday night.

AmaKhosi are point away from their first PSL title since 2005, but Baxter wants his players to stay focused and play for all three points.

“If there is anything that I don’t want to see from my players then it has to be complacency. We still have two tough games ahead of ourselves and we will be playing for maximum points in those games,” Baxter told the reporters gathered at Naturena.

“SuperSport will be very difficult to beat, but I personally want this team (Chiefs) to wrap the league title on Wednesday,” he said.

Baxter has also admitted that it will be difficult for him to watch the game from the stands after being dismissed in Chiefs’ previous game against Ajax Cape Town.

However, the former Bafana mentor believes that the players can cope without him on the bench, as there will be no change of tactics whatsoever.

“I will certainly miss my team. I have been on the bench all season and it is going to be difficult to watch from the stands, but I made a mistake and I have to take it up as a professional,” said Baxter.

“I don’t think my players will miss me too much, because our tactics have been the same all season. My technical team will do a very good job in my absence,” added Baxter.
