Matsatsantsa’s Gavin Hunt has started playing mind games just less than a week before their league encounter against AmaKhosi next Wednesday
SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has told Goal that his money is on Kaizer Chiefs to win the PSL title this season and he also believes that SuperSport United will certainly return to the Caf Confederation Cup next year regardless of the Nedbank Cup final outcome on May 25.
United and Chiefs will meet twice before the end of the season and Matsatsantsa remain the only team to determine if AmaKhosi will win the league and cup double.
“It was tough against Platinum Stars, but I think we have done enough to return to the Caf Confederation Cup after our last week’s result (against ENPPI),” Hunt told Goal.
“Chiefs will certainly win the league and that will automatically mean we are in. Even if they beat us it’s still fine, because they would have secured their Caf spot already,” he said.
However, the three-time PSL winning coach added that Chiefs should not expect the Nedbank Cup on a silver platter, as he vowed to give them a fight.
“No team goes to the final with negative mentality. Everyone wants to win the cup and we know it’s not going to be easy for us against a team like Chiefs, but it’s not going to be easy for them either,” added Hunt.
