Mashego spoke exclusively with Goal and said his focus is not really on finishing as the leading goalscorer, but to take every match as it comes.

“I am not really concerned about finishing on top. My main focus is on doing well and ensuring that the club wins,” he said.
With three games remaining for both the teams, the competition is going to reach a climax. However the striker admitted that, shall he end up topping the list, he will have a better chance of making a comeback to Bafana Bafana.

“It is every player’s goal to be called up to the national team. I am hoping that my performance will open up doors for me,” he said.
Mashego made his PSL debut with SuperSport United and will be hoping to score against his former team this Saturday.
It will also be remembered that during the 2007-2008 season he finished with a total of 14 goals.
On the 15th of May the two teams will meet and that could determine who walks away with the leading goalscorer award.
