Following the match Kaizer Chiefs' coach Stuart Baxter pointed out his side's lacklustre performance in the second half as the reason behind the stalemate.

“I was pleased with the first half, reasonably pleased with the beginning of the second half, but then we fell off and into bad habits,” Baxter commented after the match.

“I think we shaded it in the first half, I think we created some really good chances, we played some good football.

“Second half it was a much more open affair and I think both teams didn’t want to win the game. If I was the crowd I would have wanted a little bit better entertainment in the last 15/20 minutes.

“I thought we also stopped playing a little bit and weren’t true to ourselves. We started launching balls forward and that is not the way we play and I was not happy with that.”

Dikwena coach Cavin Johnson lamented his team's inability to convert their chances and close the gap on Chiefs, as his side will now have to hope results go their way in the final three games of the season.

"I thought we got it right at one moment the ball just didn’t fall for us,” Johnson said after the match.

“We hit the upright in the first half. I thought we had two or three clear chances in the second half, but they also had some moments in the game where they could have scored.

“I think it was a game where we had the clearer chances and I think we should have maybe won the game. I came to try and win the game, but more than anything else we came to try and play football.

“We are happy and the players are happy. We almost stole it. Second place, we are going to fight for it, if Chiefs slip up we will be on their tail.”
