Letsholonyane: Kaizer Chiefs will certainly miss Itumeleng Khune

Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane admits that they will miss suspended captain Itumeleng Khune as Amakhosi take on Dikwena at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane has admitted that they will miss the services of goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune in a potential title decider against Platinum Stars on Sunday afternoon.

The Chiefs captain is suspended for this encounter after picking up his fourth yellow card of the season in their previous match against Moroka Swallows.

“We will miss Itu (Khune) not only as our captain, but as the top goalkeeper in the country,” Yeye told the reporters at Naturena.

The 30-year-old midfielder, who signed a new contract with Amakhosi last week, believes that whoever gets to fill Khune’s position will do a great job and he was quick to mention Brilliant Khuzwayo as a possible replacement.

“However, you will need to understand that Chiefs have about 30 players who are all good and capable of doing well whenever called up. For instance, we have Brilliant (Khuzwayo) and two other keepers (Arthur Bartman and Reyaad Pieterse) who can still do the job in Khune’s absence,” added Letsholonyane.

Letsholonyane is also available for selection against Dikwena after serving his two-match ban following a red card he received when Chiefs drew 0-0 with Golden Arrows about two weeks ago.
