Baxter: Kaizer Chiefs-Platinum Stars game not a title decider caught up with the AmaKhosi coach Stuart Baxter ahead of their crucial game against Platinum Stars on Sunday afternoon

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has told that their game against Platinum Stars on Sunday afternoon is not a title decider. He feels that any team can still snatch the title regardless of the outcome.

Baxter will lead his troops without suspended captain and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune against Cavin Johnson’s team that defeated them in the first round.

“Our game against Platinum Stars is not a title decider, because they are still in good position to win even if we beat them and so is number three (Orlando Pirates),” Baxter told

“I will be putting my players under pressure if I can tell them that they will be crowned champions should they beat Stars. I think we still need to be cautious, because we can lose all our remaining games and that’s possible,” he said.

The AmaKhosi coach is impressed with the mentality of his players during this crucial stage of the season and he believes that they have tried hard to overcome the challenges that come with being the favourites for the league title.

“I am happy with their (players) mentality. It is not 100%, but I am quite impressed. Most players lose it when they realize that they have opened a six or seven-point lead, but that hasn’t been the case here,” added Baxter.
