Mugeyi joins AmaZulu as assistant coach

Following his sad exit at Chippa United, Zimbabwean born coach Wilfred Mugeyi has joined the KwaZulu-Natal based outfit AmaZulu as assistant coach

Mugeyi will work with head coach Craig Rosslee who at some stage was the coach at Ajax Cape Town. His appointment was made official on Tuesday and he has started on his duties with immediate effect.

AmaZulu General Manager Peter O’ Connor confirmed the news that the coach has been given a two year contract, following Fani Madida’s exit to the club this year.

”We’re pleased to announce that Wilfred Mugeyi has been appointed as the assistant coach at AmaZulu on a two year contract,” said O’Connor.

The Zimbabwean-born mentor is expected to be at this Wednesday night’s home match against Bloemfontein Celtic, but will only start afterwards to be based in the technical area as per normal protocol.

Prior to Mugeyi joining Chippa he had been second in charge at the Ikamva based Ajax Cape Town spanning from 2007 to 2012, which at some point saw him working with Rosslee.
