Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane tells Goal.com that Pirates can still win the league despite being seven points off the pace with only six games remaining

Former Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane has told Goal.com that Orlando Pirates are still in the title race although a lot of fans believe that Kaizer Chiefs will walk away with league.

Mosimane, once wanted by the defending champions, is adamant that Chiefs won’t win all their remaining games, but said it is possible for Pirates to win all their remaining games.

“If you look you see Chiefs, but I haven’t written Pirates off. If teams can score two goals within three minutes then Pirates can still turn the tables around. So Pirates can still win the league,” Mosimane told Goal.com.

Pirates are without a win their last six league games and failure to win against Free State Stars on Wednesday could put Chiefs a step closer to their first league title in eight years.

However, Mosimane revealed that he is not focusing on what happening at the top of the log, as he wants to guide his team to a top eight finish.

“I am not worried about who wins the league though, because Sundowns cannot win the league this season. Maybe I can be interested next season,” he said.

“At the moment I am faced with a challenge to ensure that we finish in the top eight. That’s where my focus is right now,” added Mosimane.
