Sundowns’ Elias Pelembe says they will turn the tables when they meet Platinum Stars in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday afternoon
Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Elias Pelembe has told the club website that they will bounce back from a disappointing season at the expense of Platinum Stars, as both teams will meet in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
Dikwena has always troubled Sundowns in recent seasons, but Pelembe is not worried about that, as he said that they are focusing on their game rather than their opponents’.
“We are not stressing about our opponent’s current form, but rather on how to walk away victories in that match in order to advance to the next stage of the competition,” said Pelembe.
“Platinum Stars have been one of the most consistent teams in the PSL this season, but we also haven’t had an easy road to make it this far in the competition,” he said.
The Mozambican international has never tasted any form of silverware since joining the Brazilians from SuperSport United and he believes that they will go as far as lifting the Nedbank Cup this season.
“The other thing is that we are also really hungry for silverware. It’s amazing what winning does for a squad and for us it would restore the belief amongst the players going forward,” he added.
