Lekgwathi: Pirates senior players need to come on board

Orlando Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi told Goal.com that coach Roger De Sa believes the team can turn their fate around

Lekgwathi believes that if his players can score more goals and try to tighten up the defence, then they can still win the league.

“Honestly speaking, anything is possible. We are playing good football. There might be those errors but apart from that we just lack a bit of luck,” said Lekgwathi.

The captain said  senior players can help the club win the league since they have the vast of experience of doing it before.

“It is the senior players, that really need to come on board and play their part now. Their experience is vital at this stage,” he said.

The defender also acknowledges his coach Roger De Sa for giving young players a chance to play.

“Our coach believe in us so much and not only the senior players, but the youngsters that have come in as well. It is always a great motivation to have someone like that in the system because when things are hard he is able to keep you going,” he said.

He said he understands the frustration of the fans, but they just need to be more patient and give support to the players and the coach.

“If we can just keep clean sheets I think the fans will be relaxed a bit. I understand their frustration, the only thing that they want is a win and we are working hard to deliver to their expectations,” he said.
