thumbnail Hello,

Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter has urged his players to remain focused following last weekend’s 3-0 win over Bloemfontein Celtic

Kaizer Chiefs mentor Stuart Baxter has vowed to ensure that his players remain focused in their last seven games of the season.

Baxter told the club website that it is normal that players would normally get complacent after an impressive win, but he is willing to address the issue with his players.

“We have to remain focused and it is my job as a coach to ensure that the team is focused on the next battle,” said Baxter.

We still have to go out to play and win games. We cannot start to be complacent and I am going to address this with the team,” he added.

The Amakhosi head coach has also raised his concerns about the number of yellow cards his players have collected for time wasting in their last few games.

Captain Itumeleng Khune was on Sunday cautioned and Baxter says he is not pleased, as these yellow cards could cost Chiefs the title.

“We need to be very careful about these yellow cards. We had one for Keegan Ritchie who was tying his boot laces and in another game we had one unnecessary card for Majoro. I am not pleased with these yellow cards as they come back to haunt us,” concluded Baxter.

Chiefs will play Maritzburg United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium tonight, as they look to maintain their seven-point lead over Orlando Pirates.
