Contrary to what he told Goal.com last week, Moroka Swallows midfielder David “DVD” Mathebula has signed a pre-contract with SuperSport United and will join them at the beginning of the upcoming season.
Mathebula previously told Goal.com that he is happy at Swallows despite being often used as an impact player, but the former Kaizer Chiefs man will now turnout for Matsatsantsa in the new season after agreeing to a two-year deal.
He is the second Swallows player to sign a pre-contract with the Nedbank Cup holders, following the footsteps of Bennett Chenene who was signed back in January.
SuperSport United have also made their intentions clear by acquiring Thuso Phala and Enocent Mkabhela from Platinum Stars and they both join the Tshwane-based club in the new season.
However, the future of coach Gavin Hunt is still hanging in balance after he was apparently allowed to negotiate with Bidvest Wits for a possible move to Johannesburg.
Hunt will never get a chance to work with these players should he agree to join the Clever Boys, but he has made it clear that his future lies with SuperSport United.
