Bucs coach Roger De Sa has got a plan as Pirates continue to fight for both the PSL and the Caf champions league title, having lost the Nedbank Cup already this season
He also highlighted that Pirates are certain of the their spot in the group stages of the Caf champions league regardless of the second leg outcome.
“A win over Zanaco would effectively put us in the group stages regardless of the outcome, that said, we will have to manage our remaining matches smartly because we will be playing a lot of football in such a short space of time,” said De Sa.
The coach is aware that the champions league is getting tougher and believes that players will need to be on their best at all times, but he is still cautious not to lose focus on the PSL title.
“The Champions League is slowly getting to its more serious stages, so we will have to learn fast how to juggle the domestic League and the Champions League. We will have to be a bit more creative in the way we ensure that our players are in peak condition for both competitions at all times,” added De Sa.
There is good news for Bucs fans with the return of defender Rooi Mahamutsa who has started his rehabilitation program with the club’s physiotherapist, after missing the better part of the 2012/2013 season.
