Goal has reliably been informed that Stuart Baxter will not be leaving Kaizer Chiefs for a possible role of technical director at the South African Football Association (Safa).

A source at the Naturena-based club told Goal that Baxter has made up his mind about staying with Chiefs, as he has been preparing for the season ahead.

"He's not leaving the club. Not by any chance! He's made up his mind and he will address the media on July 22 at the Village about this issue," the source told Goal.

It is unclear, at this stage, whether Baxter has formally been approached by his former employers about the post, as Safa have been quiet about their candidates for the job.

Baxter has two more years to his existing contract with Chiefs, and Bobby Motaung publicly lashed out on these reports, saying that they're unsettling the team.

AmaKhosi are currently in Port Elizabeth to play a friendly game against Chippa United on Sunday afternoon, before returning to Johannesburg.
