“I am very honoured and happy to be part of the Bafana squad. I think with the amount of hard work I have put in, I surely deserve to be here,” said Kekana.
He was also part of the Bafana Bafana squad that took part in the recent Cosafa Cup, and gained from the further experience in Zambia.

“I gained great experience at the Cosafa Cup, and it was great for me. My goal is to continue working hard so that I cement my place in the national team and get to play more games,” he said.
In terms of the upcoming match against Burkina Faso on Saturday, Kekana reminded critics that South Africa most importantly needs to prepare for the World Cup qualifier against Botswana in September. He doesn't place much emphasis on the friendly results.
“All our eyes are fixed on doing well for the World Cup qualifiers, hence why we need to use these friendly matches as learning and training experiences,” he said.
