South Africa dropped four spots to 60th place in the latest Fifa World Rankings announced on Thursday 6 JuneThe updated world rankings are of minor significance to Bafana Bafana, since their all-important World Cup qualifiers against the Central Africa Republic and Ethiopia are still to come up in the next two weeks.
South Africa haven't faltered since the last ranking, having only played Lesotho, a relatively easy friendly match which they won 2-0 away from home. Nevertheless Bafana also dropped one position to 10th in Africa.

Other nations played more games recently, so SA can expect a fairer reflection next month. Saturday's opponents CAR actually improved by five spots to 59th in the latest world rankings, and are surprisingly one position ahead of Bafana. Group leaders Ethiopia rose one position to 106th.
Spain remain number one in the world, while 13th spot Ivory Coast is the highest ranked African team.
