Bafana coach Igesund is convinced that Ricardo Nunes will do a better job for his team in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers against CAR and Ethiopia next month
Nunes has been in the Bafana setup since Igesund took over in 2012, and he made two appearances for the national team against Poland and Kenya in the absence of Masilela and Punch Masenamela who were both injured.
“In my opinion, I think Ricardo Nunes is a perfect replacement for Tsepo (Masilela). He did well in his first appearances in the national team, but I think he lost confidence at the some point,” said Igesund during the SABC Radio interview on Tuesday night.

“Now, he got the opportunity back to prove that he has got the ability of doing it. I have got no doubt about his abilities. He’s very good on the ball,” he said.
Igesund added that Nunes will be helpful in dead-ball situations and he believes that the Slovakian-based left-back is a specialist in that department.
“He’s a dead-ball specialist whom we might need in those areas, especially with free-kicks situations away from home in CAR and Ethiopia. So, this is a great opportunity for him and the rest of the players,” added Igesund.
