Mbalula: Bafana must win tonight’s match against CAR

Minister of Sports Fikile Mbalula visited the Bafana camp ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic and believes that they should beat CAR if they are to make it to Brazil in 2014

South Africa’s Minister of Sport and Recreation Fikile Mbalula has told Bafana that they need to win against Central African Republic on Saturday night, if they have any hopes of competing in the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

Mbalula assured the players that the nation is behind them and that they should do their best, as this is game offers them another chance of putting their names in the history books of South African football.  

“We have to win this match because it is imperative for us as South Africa to go to Brazil. It is important for you, your friends and families and for the entire country,” Mbalula told the players in Cape Town.

“We are behind you all the way. You have a chance to engrave your names in the history books by helping this country qualify for the World Cup in Brazil, so you have to give your best,” said Minister Mbalula.

Bafana will move up to the first position in Group A, should they beat CAR tonight and that will also mark their first win of the 2014 World Cup qualifying stages. Bafana have collected two points from their last two games and find themselves third on the log. The kickoff at the Cape Town Stadium is at 20h15.
