1-0 Mamelodi Sundowns

88 minutes in and the Tshwane Derby seemed destined to end in yet another stalemate for draw kings SuperSport United. However, Mor Diouf was having none of it. The Senegalese defender, who had enjoyed a strong performance defying Mamelodi Sundowns the entire afternoon, took a few steps forward, noticed Wayne Sandilands off his line and launched a long range strike ala David Beckham. The ball soared over Sandilands desperate dive and hit the back of the net with what will surely be named as goal of the season. It was a truly sensational effort from Diouf which sent beleaguered coach Gavin Hunt sprinting down the sidelines in joy, as his side snatched an unlikely victory against their city rivals.

Congratulations to Mor Diouf's 21th South Africa Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Senzo Meyiwa- Orlando Pirates

Meyiwa defied his critics with a five star performance against Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby, as his heroics in goal kept Pirates in the title hunt. His finest save of the match included a sprawling dive to his left which kept a curling effort from Simphiwe Tshabalala out of the net.

Njabulo Manqana- AmaZulu

AmaZulu secured a vital 1-0 win against Platinum Stars during the midweek PSL fixtures, thanks to a late strike from Manqana who latched onto a Kagiso Senamela ball and finished with composure in order to seal the win over a deflated Dikwena.
Mongezi Bobe - Black Leopards

Captain fantastic was on hand once again to score the winning goal against Golden Arrows on Wednesday night. Bobe ended Leopards poor run of form and secured an important three points for the league strugglers with yet another vital goal.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by South Africa, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
