Meyiwa: Pirates can still retain PSL title

Senzo Meyiwa is convinced that anything is possible for Pirates, and speaks to about his individual progress
The goalkeeper told that he wants to maintain his number one spot in the Pirates side, and was one of the few players who starred against Chiefs.

“My plan is to continue doing well, and maintain my spot.  All that depends on hard work and commitment that one puts in training. I believe that anything is possible if you put your mind into it,” said Meyiwa.

The player got his break when Moneeb Josephs got injured, and says that he is not competing with Josephs, but instead he is working on improving his own game.

Meyiwa said he would love to maintain his form when playing against other teams in the PSL.

“It great to play well against Chiefs because of the exposure that one gets, but more importantly I want to do well in all the matches that I play in, irrespective of which team it is,” he said.

“Joseph and I are very close, and I think it will be hard for me to say I am competing with him, since he has played a positive role in my game as well. The only thing that I am doing is basically putting hard work at training,” he said.

Meyiwa strongly believes that his side has what it takes to win the league, since they have been together for quite some time now.

“The league is not over yet, and all the players are positive. We are fully aware of what is expected from us and we are aiming for nothing less than the first position. We will have to push ourselves very hard in the remaining matches.

“I am hoping the experienced players will play their role as well so that we make our fans happy once again,” he said.
