Chiefs without Majoro and Rusike for the Soweto derby

Kaizer Chiefs will face Orlando Pirates without Lehlohonolo Majoro and Matthew Rusike who are both injured

Kaizer Chiefs have been dealt with a blow after the Naturena-based club confirmed that two of their strikers in Lehlohonolo Majoro and Matthew Rusike will play no part in the upcoming Soweto derby on Saturday.

Chiefs spokesman Vina Maphosa confirmed to that Majoro will be out for the next three weeks, and he also confirmed that Rusike is not available for the Pirates clash, although he couldn’t specify on how long the Zimbabwean will be sidelined.

“Yes Majoro and Rusike have been ruled out of the Soweto derby. Majoro will be out for the next three weeks because of the ankle ligaments, while Rusike suffered a groin injury last night (Wednesday), but I am not sure for how long he will be out, but I can confirm that he won’t play on Saturday,” said Maphosa.

Amakhosi’s technical team won’t be short of options upfront, as they still have Kingston Nkhatha, Sthembiso Ngcobo, and Kaizer Motaung Jnr, who scored the first goal for Chiefs against Chippa United on Wednesday night, as well as Bernard Parker who is also available for selection.
