Johnson: I did not say Stars will win the PSL title

Platinum Stars coach, Cavin Johnson denied that he said he wanted to win the league, after the 1-0 loss against AmaZulu

The coach who has brought Platinum to number three in the PSL log standings was very angry with the way his players performed against Usuthu.

“I have never said that I will win the league. The only thing that I have been doing is that I encouraged my boys to play good football and win their matches. I think the league will come after winning all our matches and not the other way around,” said Johnson.

Johnson said he wasn’t impressed with the performance of his players. "I felt that we were a better team in the first half. I must give credit to AmaZulu, as it was never going to be easy beating them but I think we did stand a chance of winning that match,” he said.

“We must continue playing hard and eventually a win will come. Bottom of it all, I think we can still do well in this league and I am sure that our wins will come back in due time. There is no doubt that I wanted the full three points, but that is how football is,” he said.
