Chiefs could be without Rusike, but Parker is back for the Soweto derby
Kaizer Chiefs could be without Matthew Rusike for their Soweto derby on Saturday, but Bernard Parker returns for Amakhosi, after a one match ban
Kaizer Chiefs striker Matthew Rusike is expected to miss the Soweto derby this coming Saturday, after picking up a groin injury in Chiefs 2-0 victory over Chippa United on Wednesday night.Rusike though, confirmed on his official twitter account that he is suffering from a groin injury, and that he will have a scan this afternoon (Thursday) to determine the effect.
“Something is up with my groin will have a scan tomorrow and see how long I’m out for fingers crossed it’s not too long,” wrote Matthew Rusike.
Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter won’t consider Rusike’s loss as a huge blow, going into the Pirates clash on the weekend, because he has Bernard Parker available for selection, after serving his one match suspension against Chippa United.
However, Amakhosi are sweating over Lehlohonolo Majoro’s fitness who also missed the midweek clash due to a minor injury, and the medical team has not confirmed whether Majoro will be available for the Soweto derby.
