“We had to work hard to move from the relegation zone, there was too much pressure on us which made us not play our normal style of football.
“The draw against Sundowns and the win against Vardos FC gave us the momentum that we needed to get going," said Bilankulu.
He said despite the victory, Free State gave them a good run for their full points as they had strengthened their defence.
“The game wasn’t easy, but I am glad that we were able to win, especially since we were playing at home. For us it was more about ensuring that we get maximum points,” said Bilinkulu.
Bilankulu has been in the Arrows team since 2005, but has not seen much action lately due to injuries. The midfielder said he hopes that he will not be facing that challenge again.
“I have been struggling with injuries, but for now I am actually alright and I hope that it stays like that. I want to add more value to the team and make sure we keep our fans happy by playing the good style of football that we are better known for.
“I think at the moment anything is possible, in terms of finishing in a respected spot in the league, but we are definitely not going to the National First Division. Our coach understands our needs and communicateswith us well,” he said.
