Malongoane: I want to make scoring a habit with AmaZulu

AmaZulu midfielder, Joseph Malongoane told Goal.com that despite scoring two goals in consecutive matches, he can still offer more

After scoring the only goal for AmaZulu, when they lost in the Nedbank Cup against Tembu Royals, Malongoane continued from where he left when his side played Mokoka Swallows on Saturday. He scored the second goal for Usuthu which saw them clinching a 2-1 victory.

Malongoane is one of the players that were signed by AmaZulu coach Craig Rosslee to help the team, and he is doing exactly that. He said scoring against Moroka Swallows was great and came from his hard work.

“I think my hard work is paying off. Since arriving at the club, I have been pushing very hard. I must say that I am happy with the goal that I scored, it really benefited the club,” he said.

Malongoane said, losing against the second division side in the Nedbank Cup, played a positive role in transforming the team to pull up their socks for their last performance. He said the coach was on their shoulders about it, until on Saturday before the match.

“Losing against a second division side was a wake-up call for us. We had to work extra hard because the coach was mad at us. Things only got better after the Saturday win,” he said.

The former Orlando Pirates player said he feels that, there is still a lot that he can offer the club and he wants to continue scoring.

“I know, I have been performing well lately, but I feel that there is a lot that I can offer the team. I am gelling well with the rest of the players. I aiming to score two or more goals in the next match,” said Malongoane
