Goal.com spoke with Moroka Swallows captain Lefa Tsutsulupa just less than 24 hours after their 2-1 defeat at home to AmaZulu
Moroka Swallows captain Lefa Tsutsulupa believes that his team has not been as bad as the fans think they have, especially after the Afcon break.
The Dube Birds were expected to trash AmaZulu on Saturday night, following their great comeback against the defending champions last Tuesday, but they were shocked by a late goal from Joseph Malongoane.
Tsutsulupa has told Goal.com that fans should not read too much into last night’s results, because Swallows is not too far from its target.
“I wouldn’t call it inconsistency, I mean this happens to a lot of teams. If you look at our record since we came back, we have drawn two games, won one, and lost one. That’s not bad at all, because we are not too far from our target,” Tsutsulupa told Goal.com.
“Yes, our fans expected last night’s match to be a walk in the park, but we knew that it was not going to be easy, and unfortunately we conceded those goals from our mistakes,” he said.
The Swallows captain doesn’t believe that his teammates will require motivation going into their next match against Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I don’t need to motivate my teammates, it is not like we have been horrible, actually we have been doing well,” added Lefa Tsutsulupa.
After their defeat against AmaZulu on Saturday night, Moroka Swallows find themselves 12th on the log with 22 points from 20 games.
