Moroka Swallows have extended the contract of Siyabonga Nomvete by two years, after the club revealed that they are happy with the contribution of the 35-year-old striker
Moroka Swallows striker Siyabonga Nomvete has signed a contract extension with his team after successful negotiations that started back in January.
Nomvete will now be in the nest of the Dube Birds for the next two seasons, after agreeing to a two-year-deal with the Soweto club.
Swallows’ team manager Sipho Xulu said that the management and the technical team were satisfied with the contribution and the loyalty shown by Nomvete since joining Swallows in 2009, and that they never had any challenges in extending his stay at the club.
“We are very happy with what Nomvete has done for the team, he has been a team player, a true professional on and off the field. Hence, we needed to keep him. He’s been loyal to us, and we needed to be loyal to him too,” said Xulu.
The 35-year-old Nomvete has just recovered from an injury that sidelined him for the better part of the first half of the season, and in his return, he has scored two goals in four games that he has started.
