Kaizer Chiefs welcomed defender Morgan Gould back from injury in their previous two matches, and he expressed his delight at playing again
Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould has promised the Amakhosi fans that they are yet to see the best of him, despite his solid performance in Chiefs’ previous two matches, that was accompanied by a goal against Bidvest Wits in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.
Gould is once again enjoying his football after fully recovering from an Achilles tendon that sidelined him for more than five months. He told the club’s website that he always believed that he will come back stronger, and that he is happy to be back with his teammates.
“It was disappointing to watch the guys from the sidelines but I have always believed that I will bounce back. I am delighted to be back in the team, and the technical team has given me an opportunity to play,” said Gould.
Gould also promised to make good use of the opportunity presented to him to represent Chiefs, and said he needs to play regularly to be on top of his game after a long absence.
“I always look at my life like a candle, the small light that makes a difference. I am far from being fully fit. I think I need three or so games to be back in full fitness. I will continue to grab opportunities as presented to me by the technical team,” he said.
The Amakhosi fan favourite has thanked everyone for the support they have showed while he was out with an injury that cost him a place in Gordon Igesund’s Afcon squad.
“I will like to thank everyone for the wonderful support in particular the medical team and my family,” added Gould.
