Inspiring Tshabalala will soon be back from minor injury for Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala says he is happy to have got his form back after creating two goals for his side against Wits on Saturday
Chiefs star Tshabalala was frustrated to get just a bench role with Bafana during the Afcon, but is now back to his best with positive performances in the PSL, as well as against Wits in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
From the beginning of the match Tshabalala was buzzing with new-found enthusiasm, creating numerous opportunities for the AmaKhosi who could have won by more than four goals had they converted them.
“I am happy with my performance; it feels good to perform well once again. I also want to thank my team mates for the support that they gave me and the great team work they provided,” said Tshabalala.
One of the players that he worked well with forward was Tsepo Masilela, his Bafana teammate. Above everything there was a high chemistry between the players, whenever he carried the ball forward. The rest of the players such as Siboniso Gaxa and Kingston Nkhatha could read his runs and the passing play between them was a delight to watch.
“It all started in training. We worked hard to prepare ourselves and use that formation. I guess it worked well for us,” he said.
After creating two assists that were scored by Gaxa and Morgan Gould, Tshabalala was substituted due to an injury in the second half. The AmaKhosi fans will be happy to hear that his injury is minor and there's a great chance that he will feature in the next round.
“It is a minor injury, I don't think it is anything serious. I look forward to playing the rest of the tournament and doing well,” he said after receiving the man of the match award.
