Mokoena, man of the match against Pirates, believes that team work is what made them beat one of the three biggest teams in South Africa. Mokoena said that they believed they could beat Pirates.
“What I can say is that we believed in ourselves, two to three weeks back. We knew we were going to do this. It’s a surprise to some of the people, but we knew it from the training, the way the coach taught us the tactics, and they way we were doing things,” said Mokena.
“I am so excited, and it’s not only me, it’s the team. The team work and the supporters who were behind us - I am proud of them!” he said.
Lucky Mokoena, who scored the fastest goal of this year’s tournament, revealed that he will be happy to face last season’s finalists Mamelodi Sundowns in the last 16 round, as they look to cause more upsets in the tournament.
“I support Mamelodi Sundowns, and they won on Friday. I wish we could play them in the next round,” said the Maluti FET College captain.
The win against Pirates will forever remain in the minds of Maluti FET players, who became the only second division team to score four goals against Pirates.
