Steven Pienaar played 78 minutes during Everton's 2-2 draw against Oldham Athletic, with Dean Furman only making an appearance in the 66th minute of the match. The two midfield experts will have another chance to do battle as the Toffees face Oldham once more in their FA Cup replay.

Davide Somma is still not one hundred percent fit and did not appear in the squad during Manchester City's Leeds United massacre, which saw the Citizens put four past the Championship side.

Kagisho Dikgacoi’s Crystal Palace was in inspirational form against Middlesborough with a vital 4-1 win at home. Dikgacoi played for 75 minutes of the match and controlled proceedings in the midfield for the Eagles.

Bongani Khumalo played the second half for PAOK against AEK Athens and helped his side secure a hard-fought 0-0 win against tough opponents. PAOK still sit second on the Greek Super League log.


NETHERLANDS

Thulani Serero was finally entrusted with a substitute appearance for Ajax, as the midfielder's recovery from a long-term injury continues at a slow pace. He saw just under half an hour of action against RKC Waalwijk, a game which Ajax won 2-0 as they keep the pressure on PSV at the top of the Eredvisie table.
