Goal.com spoke with Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter, who revealed that the club is focusing on their own results and not their rivals
Baxter told Goal.com that he never felt any pressure of making substitutions when Stars where leading against Chiefs with 20 minutes left on the clock.
“I am not going to listen to what fans say, because I will get confused. I am not being arrogant, but that will mean I don’t know what I am doing,” said Baxter.
Chiefs fans signalled to Baxter to make changes, and Kingston Nkhatha and Siyabonga Nkosi made way immediately after the visitors have taken the lead, as the pressure was looming.
“I am learning a lot from my players, I am with them the whole week and I am not going to change a certain player just because he’s not been having a good game in the first five minutes,” Baxter told Goal.com.
He made light of competition from Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates, as Amakhosi are looking for their first league title since 2005.
“I am not worried about the results of other teams. If we focus on other teams’ results then we will lose focus, and I am not putting pressure on my players too, because they could make a lot of mistakes,” added Baxter.
