Bafana coach Gordon Igesund was admitted to hospital, after suffering from abdominal pains last night
South African Football Association (Safa) released a formal statement in a form of media release, confirming that Igesund is in hospital.
Safa revealed that initial tests have showed that Igesund might be suffering from appendicitis.
“Dr Ephraim Nematswerani who is attending to coach Igesund said so far he had detected that the national coach might be having appendicitis,” reads the statement.
However, Dr Nematswerani said that further tests are to be done to confirm the diagnosis, and that Igesund’s illness is not as serious as feared.
“Thorough and further investigations are being carried out to confirm the diagnosis. We are however, confident that he will be back on his feet soon. It is nothing too serious, ” quoted Nematswerani in the released statement.
